Candidate screening software that shows its work

Qcandidate reads every CV against the requirements you wrote, ranks the field, and shows the evidence behind each score. You get a shortlist you can explain to a hiring manager, a candidate, or an auditor — in minutes, in the browser, with no implementation project and no sales call.

What the software does

A score you can defend line by line

Every criterion score points at the exact sentence in the CV that earned it. You can read a candidate's result out loud to them, to a hiring manager, or to a regulator without guessing what the model did.

Your rubric, your weights

You decide which skills, qualifications and years of experience matter and how much each is worth. Nothing is scored on attributes you did not ask for, and the rubric version is stored with the run so the same shortlist can be reproduced months later.

Built for the 100-to-1000 CV role

Upload, paste, or forward a full batch — including scanned CVs, which are read with on-device text recognition. The queue works through it and hands back a ranked top five with reports you can export as PDF or CSV.

Bias audit you can export

Selection rates are tracked per run with the four-fifths impact-ratio test, so adverse impact shows up as a number instead of an assumption. Useful for EEOC-aware US employers, NYC Local Law 144, the EU AI Act and POPIA-regulated South African teams.

A human always signs off

The software ranks and explains; a named person approves. No candidate can be rejected automatically, and each approval is written to an audit log with a timestamp.

The people you don't hire get something back

Unsuccessful applicants can be sent their own score breakdown plus free public courses matched to the exact gap in their result — from one screen, in paced batches.

How a screening run works

  1. Paste your job spec, or let the AI draft one from the role title.
  2. Upload the CVs — files, pasted text, or scans.
  3. Get a ranked shortlist with per-criterion evidence for each candidate.
  4. Sign off the outcome, export the report, and message the rest.

How it compares to an applicant tracking system

An ATS stores applications and moves them through stages; it does not judge them. This is the screening layer that sits on top: keep the ATS, inbox or job board you already use, bring the CVs across, and get a defensible ranking back. Keyword filters reject people for missing a word; a rubric score tells you how close each person actually is to the role and why.

What it costs

A signed-up account includes free CV screens every month, so you can validate the tool on a real role before paying anything. Paid plans are a monthly subscription billed in USD to the business, cancellable at any time, and candidates are never charged. See the plans.

Try it on a real batch of CVs

Bring one open role and the CVs sitting in your inbox. You will have a ranked, explained shortlist before your next meeting.
